Murderous Kings, Plagued Peasants, Renaissance Artists, & World Explorers

Supply fee: $50 | Monthly fee: $55 | Students age 12-18
Fridays - 3rd Period- 12:00noon-1:30pm

Explore the Age of King and Queens, cathedrals and castles, Mona Lisa and Martin Luther. We will learn about the people, places, and history of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Reformation through group projects and individual investigation. Using games, music, movies and interactive online tools, students will be encouraged to think critically about historical events, ideas, and leaders. We will read several great historic novels, we will write about what we learn, and carry on lively discussion.

Each student will do a class presentation that will involve learning to research, use primary and scholarly secondary sources, to write and present a topic to the class. This class is fast paced and full of lots of in-class interaction.

I will supply several history books for the whole class but you will need to buy 2-4 paperback books and an overview text during the year. Most are available at Half Price books or as used books on Amazon.
